The tester supports two distinct methods for evaluating wear resistance. You can choose to have the test piece rotate on its own axis while it moves across the drum, or keep it fixed in a non-rotating position, allowing for versatility in simulating different real-world friction scenarios.
To maintain a clean laboratory environment and prevent loose rubber particles from interfering with the test, the machine includes a removable tray at the base. This catches all abraded material “rubbed off” during the 40-metre travel path.
For easier maintenance, these testers feature a mechanical drum release. This allows the operator to quickly remove the 150mm diameter drum to replace the 60-grit abrasive paper or to clean the unit after testing heavy-duty samples.
